Seeun Kim

Based in South Korea

Seeun Kim develops a painterly practice attuned to the shifting dynamics of urban space, exploring how movement, structure, and memory collide and recombine. Her works trace the subtle deformations of familiar environments—residual zones, tunnels, underpasses—through line, color, and layered surfaces, allowing absence and trace to coexist. She treats the canvas not as mirror but as site of sensory mediation, where the visual is always in flux and the boundary between inside and outside remains permeable. Her recent explorations of “굴”과 “터널” invoke spatial thresholds as metaphors for perception’s instability.
