Jimin Chae

채지민(b.1983) 채지민은 벽과 사물 , 인물 , 동물의 조합으로 구조적인 가상 공간을 만들어낸다 . 그의 화면은 ' 벽과 벽 사이의 긴장 ' 과 ' 환영의 공간 ' 사이를 오고가며 대상들의 ' 단절 ' 과 ' 소통 ' 을 은유적으로 표현한다 . 서울대학교 미술대학 서양화과 학사 (B.F.A.) 와 영국 첼시 예술 대학에서 순수미술 학위 (M.A.) 를 받았다 . ‘ Selected Scene ’ ( 옵스큐라 , 2020), ‘들판에서’ ( 노블레스컬렉션 , 2019), ‘하나의 풍경들’ ( 갤러리엠 , 2017), ‘ In the End, We Are All Alone ’ (Griffin Gallery, 런던 , 2016) 등 국·내외에서 다수의 전시에 참여했다 . 그리고 Art Miami, Art Basel Hong Kong, Art London 14 외 여러 아트페어와 AHL Foundation 레지던시 ( 뉴욕 , 2015) 프로그램에 참여했다 . 현재 한국에서 거주하며 활동하고 있으며 “ When We Found Each Other ”은 2022 년 그의 미공개 신작으로 키아프에서 선보인다 . 이번 작업은 2021 년 옵스큐라에서 진행된 그의 개인전 작업들과 그 맥락을 이어가고 있지만 , 인물과 대상들의 단절이 아닌 소통의 코드로 변화하고 있음을 확인 할 수 있는 작업이다 . Jimin Chae(b.1983) Jimin Chae, his painting is about space of visual composition and relationship between 'tension of layers' and 'space of illusions' as well as interested in the surface paintings between 'difference' and 'communication'. He received a Bachelor of Arts (B.F.A.) from Seoul National University's College of Fine Arts and a Master of Arts(M.A.) from Chelsea College of Art & Design in UK. He participated in several exhibitions internationally, including "Selected Scene" (Obscura, 2020), "In the Field”(Noblesse Collection, 2019), " Single Sceneries " (Gallery EM, 2017), and "In the End, We Are All Alone" (Grippin Gallery, London, 2016). Art Miami, Art Basel Hong Kong, Art London 14, and several other art fairs and AHL Foundation residency programs (New York, 2015). He currently lives and works in Korea. He has a plan to show When We Found Each Other in Kiaf 2022. It continues in similar context with his previous work at Obscura, but it expects a different sense between difference and communication.
