Leehaiminsun explores subtle sensations and traces of thought that emerge at the boundaries between human and nature, life and death, through painting, drawing, and installation. Rather than simply reproducing landscapes, she extracts and recomposes their elements to construct structures that only appear as landscapes, elevating plants, stones, and small, easily overlooked objects into painterly devices. This approach reveals both the fragility and persistence of things, exposing the precarious balance they hold, so that her surfaces resonate with a quiet yet tense atmosphere. Her works resist fixed narratives, instead generating meaning at the intersection of sensory cues and psychological associations, prompting viewers to reconsider the ontological weight of landscapes and objects.
